Where’s the 25 stars button? Today we spent our anniversary lunch here and were treated like royalty—well, rockstars! We had the candied pork belly, the burnt ends, the brisket and the pulled pork with sides of beans and potato salad. When I say that these baked beans were the best barbecue beans I have ever had in all 50 states, I am not kidding! We have done Kansas City barbecue, Nashville, Kentucky, Texas and Memphis and this place is up there with the heavy hitters. The flavors are a perfect blend that is a Christmas party in your mouth!!! And the deserts? Upside down pineapple cake and a chocolate brownie on steroids. Both were fantastic. And Bruce, the chef, is wonderful. THANKYOU guys for making it so special for us and our pup.
Burnt ends are hard to come by. Nachos were excellent. Pulled pork was also really good, espy with the maple bourbon sauce. Blueberry sauce was also excellent.
Stopped here on the way through after the 2024 eclipse trying to find some local flavor instead of chain restaurants and was blown away by the food here. Had the pork belly, brisket, and pulled pork sampler plate along with fried portabello mushrooms. So good. Nice casual little scene next to an outdoor bar with a super friendly staff. If somehow I were ever passing through Springfield again, I would make a point of eating here multiple times.
